Want help getting set-up?

Prerequisites

The Hyperglance trial is distributed via a Docker container. It can run anywhere that Docker is installed although we recommend you run it inside an AWS instance or Azure VM.

The Hyperglance trial includes the ability to add one AWS account and one Region or one Azure subscription for up to 1000 resources for 14 days.

To add more accounts or subscriptions to your trial please contact us.

We recommend the following minimum specifications for the machine the Hyperglance container is running on:

  • 2x vCPU, 4GB RAM, 8GB SSD
  • Access to the AWS and/or Azure API
  • Ports 22 & 443 accessible
  • 64 bit Linux OS
  • Docker 17 or greater

AWS Instructions

Step 1: Apply the Hyperglance IAM Policy to the instance

Hyperglance connects to the AWS API in order to pull the information we need to create our inventory. In order to authorise Hyperglance to do this you must firstly add a policy to the Instance Hyperglance is running on. This policy includes an sts:AssumeRole statement that allows you to add additional accounts via an ARN. To add more accounts to your trial please contact us.

NOTE: You need to be able to access the Instance IP in order to use the Hyperglance software.

Step 2: Pull the Hyperglance image and start a container

Go to the command line of the Instance you are going to run Hyperglance on.

NOTE: The Instance needs to be able to connect to the AWS API endpoint.

Login to Docker Hub:

sudo docker login -u hyperglanceuser -p BvmMrekVrj52T3AQ

Pull the Hyperglance image down and run a Docker container

sudo docker pull hyperglance/hyperglance
sudo docker run --restart always --name hyperglance -p 443:443 -d hyperglance/hyperglance

Step 3: Login and configure Hyperglance

Open a browser and navigate to https://ip_address_of_instance/

The default login is admin/admin.

You will be presented with the admin page after login.

Select ‘Add Record’

Add an alias and select the Region you are interested in.
